Warner Brothers has released the first teaser trailer for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Alexandra Shipp, Michael Cera, Issa Rae, Hari Nef, Connor Swindells, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera and Kingsley Ben-Adir. The film will be released in theaters on July 21, 2023.

The plot synopsis reads, “After being expelled from Barbieland for being a less than perfect-looking doll, Barbie sets off for the human world to find true happiness.”

The film is directed by Gerwig, which she co-wrote with Noah Baumbach. Costume design is headed by Jacqueline Durran and the score is composed by Alexandre Desplat.
