Missed Oscartunities – Supporting Actor Podcast

On our lastest podcast episode, we were joined by some amazing guests and dove into some Missed Oscartunities in the Supporting Actor category. Ricky was joined by Adriano, Jack, Jillian and Larry as they briefly discussed the news of the week and then began a fun discussion of some overlooked performances (AND SNUBS!) in the Supporting Actor category at the Oscars.

The team went through two rounds of choosing the performances by an actor in a supporting role they wanted to recognize. The first round each person selected two performances who were nominated at the Oscars, but did not win. The second round each person selected two performances that did not receive an Oscar nomination.

First Round:
Adriano – Sylvester Stallone (Creed), Eddie Murphy (Dreamgirls)
Larry – Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile)
Jack – Mark Wahlberg (The Departed), Mark Ruffalo (Spotlight)
Jillian – Tom Cruise (Magnolia), Anthony Hopkins (The Two Popes)
Ricky – Leonardo DiCaprio (What’s Eating Gilbert Grape), Jonah Hill (Moneyball)

Second Round:
Adriano – Tom Cruise (Tropic Thunder), Willem Dafoe (The Lighthouse)
Larry – Michael Stuhlbarg (Call Me by Your Name), Patrick Stewart (Logan)
Jack – Daniel Kaluuya (Widows), Jason Isaacs (Mass)
Jillian – Richard Gere (Chicago), Anders Danielsen Lie (The Worst Person in the World)
Ricky – Tom Cruise (The Color Of Money), Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood)

While the team did this just to shine some extra light on some performances that don’t live as Best Actor in a Supporting Role Winners, we are running polls on our Twitter page to see which performance comes out on top! Definitely make sure to follow us on Twitter, vote and stay tuned to see who wins!

Check out the latest podcast episode below to hear the very fun discussion!
