Missed Oscartunities – Supporting Actress Podcast

On our lastest podcast episode, we were joined by some amazing guests and dove into some Missed Oscartunities in the Supporting Actress category. Jacob, Kenzie and Ricky were joined by Matthew and Nicole as they briefly discussed the news of the week and then began a fun discussion of some overlooked performances (AND SNUBS!) in the Supporting Actress category at the Oscars.

The team went through two rounds of choosing the performances by an actress in a supporting role they wanted to recognize. The first round each person selected two performances who were nominated at the Oscars, but did not win. The second round each person selected two performances that did not receive an Oscar nomination.

First Round:
Ricky – Marisa Tomei (The Wrestler), Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (The Color of Money)
Jacob – Kate Hudson (Almost Famous), Kate Winslet (Steve Jobs)
Kenzie – Linda Blair (The Exorcist), Julianne Moore (Boogie Nights)
Nicole – Laurie Metcalf (Lady Bird), Florence Pugh (Little Women)
Matthew – Piper Laurie (Carrie), Joan Cusack (In and Out)

Second Round:
Ricky – Kirsten Dunst (Interview with the Vampire), Claire Foy (First Man)
Jacob – Ann Dowd (Mass), Scarlett Johansson (Her)
Kenzie – Jennifer Lopez (Hustlers), Tilda Swinton (Suspiria)
Nicole – Margot Robbie (Mary Queen of Scots), Ruth Negga (Passing)
Matthew – Michelle Pfeiffer (White Oleander), Park So-Dam (Parasite)

While the team did this just to shine some extra light on some performances that don’t live as Best Actress in a Supporting Role Winners, we are running polls on our Twitter page to see which performance comes out on top! Definitely make sure to follow us on Twitter, vote and stay tuned to see who wins!
